Hey!

Hey, I’m back and it’s the new month, and we are finally winding down on our project. We finished our Polaroid photo booth and have looked back and talked about how well or not so well the booth itself did. Looking back we didn’t make over the amount we spent on it, and only really had a couple of people seem to show interest in it. Although, those who did show interest for the most part said that they liked it, some even liked it more than an average selfie. Also, it seems that polaroids, though not commonly used anymore, are making a comeback with newer, more modern technology. The modern technology of today seems to be taking over everything. I personally think it hurts people as well as helping them. Moving forward into our project as we slow it down we will be preparing for the month of april, making sure that everything is in place and all our facts are straight before we present our final part of the project. The final part will be a presentation, which will only last about five minutes each and will conclude the product of our project. My part will be to help my group make sure our research is as good as we can get it and to work on creating our presentation.

I'm back

Hello readers! It’s me I’m back! Welcome back to my blog, and sorry I haven’t posted a blog for so long. Anyways it’s February, the month of love, and we have just started our polaroid photo booth.  Lately we have had a few struggles with the whole setting the booth itself up, but over all with the booth it’s been easy going. Since we are doing this for both lunches at our school we get to see the overall reaction of everyone at the school. During first lunch not very many people at all tried it out, but during second lunch the outcome was much better. Though the first lunch didn’t have many purchases there wa quite a few people who took interest and asked about it. At the booth my job is to take pictures, watch the money, and get more people interested. We are also working on our elevator pitches, which are short thirty second pitches that tell about our projects. We have been working on these pitches for about two weeks, and it has been a little difficult to get everything we want to say cut down to thirty seconds. Even though we have had a few issues and some setbacks on things our project i now moving smoothly to where I feel it should be moving too.

About Me

My Introduction

Greetings, my name is Elysia! This is my blog about the 20 time project that me and two of my friends are doing. We are doing a project on how technology affects many adolescents, and how hard technology is to manage. My part in this project is to help learn how to manage technology, and to get others in on trying to manage their technology. This project is to see whether or not we as a group can manage our technology, and if we may be able to get others to join in. There may be many difficulties in this because not only me, but my friends love to play video games, or be on our phones. I personally spend most of my time on my phone texting people, or looking at social medias. This project may be a good way to actually get out in the world and spend time with my friends and family. We will also be studying how school can affect the use of technology in adolescents. I personally think that technology use in schools should be limited because it can affect the child's mindset for how they should use technology at home. For this project I am nervous heading into this, but still very excited. I am hoping that we succeed in this project, and I have high expectations in its success. I believe we as a group will have many challenges and will need to overcome many obstacles, though this is true i think we can do it.

Update!

Hey, and welcome back to my blog! Today I would like to talk about many things. If you go to Aiden or Kaitlynn’s blog they will be talking about Sherry Turkle and her studies on technology. Aiden’s is about an excerpt from one of her books, and what she says in it about technology. Kaitlynn’s is about a  TED talk she did and how she expressed her thoughts on the topic of technology. I want to talk about how schools affect the use of technology in adolescents. Just like this project, many other things are put on computers or tablets instead of paper. In classes they put lots of the homework on the computer. This in turn causes the student to use technology both in and out of school of schooling purposes. This also causes a habit of getting on technology to check things, like email, or social medias. Not only that but it cuts into time that could be used for other things because many computers, and tablets have technical errors and are very time consuming. This in turn causes students to have less time with family and friends, also getting in the habit of wanting to be on technology.

Elysia's Blog: Welcome

Update!

Welcome back to my blog! Hope that everyone reading this had a great Thanksgiving. Since the last time I posted I have tracked my use in technology throughout a normal school week. I’ve also started to make a graph to show the tracked times of each day, Monday through Friday. We as a group were supposed to have added a graph page and post three individual graphs of each of our time on technology for the week that we tracked our time. We all did track our time, but there was a disagreement with the way the graphs should be made. I wanted handmade graphs that were color coded and pretty, they wanted to do graphs on the computer. I argued that we didn’t know how to do that and that it would be completely contradicting to the point of the project. With these obstacles we have decided to postpone the graph page until we agree and have all graphs done. My job will be to make sure that all graphs are done and hopefully up by Monday. Also even though we have had disagreements and obstacles this project is also helping with our people problem solving skills, so I believe we will be able to resolve this and be working together better than ever. See you next update!

Happy 2019

Hey everyone happy holidays, and happy 2019! I hope that everyone has had an amazing 2018 and start to 2019! This week I would like to talk about the resolution I have for my group. If you've been to the other blogs then you’ve seen that my groupmates, and friends, have also talked about their resolutions and what goals they have set for themselves with our project. I personally would like to set at least three goals for myself with this project. The first one is to reduce technology time, and spend more personal and up close time with friends and family. My second one being to study not only the bad effects of technology, but the benefit as well. Finally, my last one is to make sure that I start updating more regularly. With each of these goals I will talk about my progress in each new update. Something that I have already done to start my resolution is that, Kaitlynn and myself, have both signed up for helping with sets and props for our spring musical. This means that both of us will have to attend rehearsals, and in the process will be busy with something other than technology. As pictures we will be taking Polaroids and then taking pictures of the Polaroids to show our progress without using screen time or any for of technology that makes use unproductive.

Ideas

Hello everyone, hope you are having an amazing beginning of twenty nineteen! This week I would like to talk about what I and my fellow group mates have and plan to do. This week I have done many things, other than play video games, or be on my phone. To be productive and have a high interaction with other humans, and not my phone.  In this week I have helped with crew for the musical, worked on somethings, spent time with family and friends, and played dungeons and dragons with a group of close friends. With the crew for the musical, that will be weekly, so I will have to attend most meetings and rehearsals, which in turn causes more human interaction. Also with dungeons and dragons we will have set meetings, which will mean even more time spent away from technology. An idea me and my group got from our teacher was to create and hold a polaroid photo booth at our school, and possibly at community events. To be able to do thi we will need to seek approval, which is my job, and work hard to make it happen. In the future I plan on working towards starting this polaroid photo booth, and staying away from technological devices. I will also be working towards the goals that I previously set for myself. Hope you have a great week! Talk next update!
